Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said the situation in the energy sector is difficult and called on citizens to save electricity. He said this at a government meeting on Friday.
"The situation in the energy sector is one of the most difficult. Grid and generation repairs are ongoing 24/7. Ukrenergo constantly engages the help of our neighbours. Therefore, I once again call for electricity savings, especially in the evening," Shmyhal said.
The relevant services are already working on a regular basis to prepare for the next heating season. The government hopes that over the next six months Ukraine will be able to significantly decentralise our power system.
