The Spanish newspaper Cadena SER, citing its own sources in diplomatic circles, claims that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is due to arrive in Madrid on Sunday afternoon.
The programme of the visit, which still needs final approval, includes meetings with King Felipe VI of Spain and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. It is highly likely that the politicians will sign an agreement on security guarantees between the two countries.
This will be the first bilateral official visit to Spain for Volodymyr Zelenskyy - the President has previously visited the country, but to take part in events in Granada related to the Spanish presidency of the European Union.
