A court has sentenced a Russian agent who corrected Russian missile strikes on civilian infrastructure in Odesa to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine.

To direct enemy fire, the Odesa resident recorded the geolocation of potential targets and then sent them to his Russian handler via messenger. After the shelling of the city, he would go around the places of hits to find out the consequences and "report" to the Russian FSB.

The convict also tried to identify the locations of air defence missile systems defending Odesa.

The Russian agent was exposed last March on an attempt to pass intelligence to the occupiers.

During the search of his apartment, computer equipment and mobile phones with evidence of criminal activity were seized.

Based on the evidence collected, the court found the offender guilty under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - unauthorised dissemination of information on the sending, movement of weapons, armaments and ammunition to Ukraine, movement, movement or deployment of the Armed Forces or other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, committed under martial law, as well as high treason.
