On 8 July, Russia launched two strikes on Kyiv. In the first strike, shrapnel and rockets damaged facilities in several districts. In particular, the Okhmatdyt children's hospital and residential buildings in two districts. During the second, the enemy attacked a medical centre on the left bank. There are dead and wounded in both medical institutions. 

As of 16:01, 96 people were reported injured, the mayor said. More than 50 people had to be hospitalised.

Two people were killed in Okhmatdyt (adults), and seven people were killed in Solomyanskyy and Dniprovskyy districts. A business centre was damaged in Solomyanskyy, and medical facilities in Dniprovskyy.

Two adults, including a doctor, died in Okhmatdyt. Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyy said that it was 30-year-old Svitlana Lukyanchuk, who, after graduating from the Bogomolets National Medical University and completing an internship, worked as a paediatric nephrologist at the hospital.

As of 15:30, 20 people were killed in Kyiv. 61 people were injured, the State Emergency Service reported. In particular, 2 people died on the territory of the Okhmatdyt children's hospital, and 10 others were injured. Four people were rescued, including 3 children. 

As of 15:13, 66 wounded were reported. 17 people were killed.

More than 40 victims had to be hospitalised. 

15:05. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the number of wounded has increased to 48 in the capital, two more people were injured in the region. Emergency and rescue operations at the sites of the largest impacts continue.

As of 14:54, 17 people were killed and 41 injured. This was reported by the KCMA.

14.20. The Office of the Prosecutor General reports 15 dead in Kyiv. 37 people were injured in the missile attacks.

Updated at 14.00. In the afternoon, Russia launched another missile attack on Kyiv. According to the State Emergency Service, preliminary reports of debris falling in the Dniprovskyy district. The building of a medical centre was partially destroyed.

Four people were killed and three injured. Another 10 people were reported dead as a result of today's shelling. The information is being updated.

At least eight people are killed in a missile strike on Kyiv. Debris was recorded falling in Solomyanskyy, Dniprovskyy, Darnytskyy, Svyatoshynskyy, Desnyanskyy, Shevchenkivskyy and Holosiyivskyy districts. 

At 13.22, Klitschko said that two men who had been hospitalised as a result of today's enemy attack had died in a Kyiv hospital. Later, the State Emergency Service added that two people died as a result of a strike on the hospital.

As of 13:18, ten people were reported dead. Thirty-five people were injured, according to the KCMA.

At 12:58 a.m., the death toll rose to nine. Twenty-three people were injured, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.

By 12:28 a.m., the death toll had risen from seven to eight, the State Emergency Service said. Twenty-five people were injured.

In addition to the Okhmatdyt, a residential building in the Shevchenkivskyy district of Syrets sustained significant damage. One entrance was destroyed and several were damaged.

In addition to Okhmatdyt, a residential building in Shevchenkivskyy district was heavily damaged.

"A residential building in Shevchenkivskyy district was hit. Entrances were damaged. One of them is destroyed. Residents are being evacuated," the mayor wrote

Rescue operations are underway in Podilskyy, Desnyanskyy, Svyatoshynskyy, Holosiyivskyy, Dniprovskyy, Solomyanskyy, Darnytskyy and Shevchenkivskyy districts of the city.

"Shevchenkivskyy district: the fire on the area of 1500 square metres was extinguished at 11:55 am. Unfortunately, 5 people died and 4 were injured. The injured were taken to doctors for further hospitalisation. Preliminarily, the total number of people killed is 8, and 15 more were injured," the SES said. 


The preliminary consequences of the attack are as follows: 

  • in Solomyanskyy district, an office building was damaged; 
  • in Holosiyivskyy, garages were damaged and cars are burning; 
  • in Dniprovskyy district, debris is burning in residential buildings.
  • in Darnytskyy district a private house was damaged;
  • in Svyatoshynskyy district, debris is burning near a residential building; a fire broke out in the premises of an enterprise.
  • a house in Desnyanskyy district caught fire. 
  • In Shevchenkivskyy district, the Okhmatdyt children's hospital was damaged, there is destruction.

All operational services are working at the sites of destruction.

The mayor of Kyiv called the 8 July attack one of the most massive.

  • In addition to Kyiv, there is destruction in Dnipro and Kryvyy Rih. At least ten people were killed there. In total, according to the State Emergency Service, about 20 people were killed and at least 50 wounded in the morning attack by Russia.
