On the night of 8 July, air defences shot down three enemy missiles in Zhytomyr and Cherkasy Regions.

This was reported by the commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk.

He noted that on the night of 8 July, the enemy attacked Ukraine with air- and ground-launched missiles.

In particular, Russia launched four X-101 missiles from Tu-95MS strategic aircraft. The launch area was the airspace of the Saratov region of the Russian Federation. 

Russia also attacked the territory of Ukraine with 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles. The areas of launch were the Kursk Region of Russia and Crimea.

As a result of combat operations, air defence destroyed 3 X-101 cruise missiles in Zhytomyr and Cherkasy Regions.
