Ukraine has managed to return 736 children who were illegally taken to Russia since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets during a press conference, Ukrinform reports.
According to Dmytro Lubinets, Qatar is currently the intermediary state in the issue of returning Ukrainian children illegally taken by Russia.
"After I handed over the first lists to Qatar, about a month later we returned the first group of Ukrainian children. It was a small group, but it showed that Qatar can influence the position of the Russian Federation," the Commissioner stressed.
He adds that the total number of Ukrainian children who have been returned since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion is 736.
Lubinets also reported that the Ukrainian side "is already preparing the return of the next groups of children, but decided not to name specific dates so that the enemy does not interfere with this process.”
