British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that Ukraine could use British Storm Shadow missiles to strike military targets in Russia.

He said this to reporters on his way to the NATO summit in Washington on Tuesday evening, Bloomberg reports.

Starmer confirmed that Ukraine has to decide for itself how to use the Storm Shadow missiles that Kyiv received from London. Storm Shadows are precision-guided cruise missiles with a range of over 250 kilometres.

The British prime minister noted that the missiles should be "expected to be used in accordance with international humanitarian law" to defend the Ukrainian side.

"But it is up to Ukraine to decide how to deploy them for defence purposes," he said.

Ukraine needs to strike military targets inside Russia to defend itself and repel Russian attacks. Debate on this issue among its allies is one of the main issues to be discussed at the NATO summit.
