Ukraine has received the first American F-16 fighter jets. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and shown the aircraft.
"F-16 in Ukraine. We made it. I am proud of all our guys who have mastered these aircraft and have already started using them for our country. I thank our team for this result. I thank all the partners who are really helping with F-16s, and the first countries to accept our request for the aircraft - Denmark, the Netherlands, the United States - and all our partners - we appreciate your support!" Zelenskyy said.
The President also congratulated the military on the Day of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"I wish our Air Force, all our warriors to feel the pride of Ukrainians in our combat aviation and to bring Ukraine exactly the kind of combat results that will bring our victory closer - our just peace for Ukraine," Zelenskyy said.
F-16, MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters flew in the sky during the ceremony of greeting soldiers.
