A Russian strike on an educational institution in Poltava killed 53 people.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service. There were 298 injuries, 25 people were rescued, 11 of whom were unblocked from the rubble.
According to updated data, up to five more people may be trapped under the rubble. The work is ongoing. The rescue services continue to work with the security component in mind.
The attack partially destroyed a six-storey building of an educational building, damaged three apartment blocks, five private houses and an office.
Russian attack on Poltava
- The Russian army attacked an educational institution in Poltava. Russians fired two ballistic missiles at the institution and a neighbouring hospital. One of the buildings of the Institute of Communications was partially destroyed.
- President Zelenskyy ordered an investigation into all the circumstances of the tragedy.
- The Poltava Region announced three days of mourning for the victims. In addition to law enforcement, the circumstances of the Russian strike will also be investigated by the Defence Ministry's Chief Inspectorate.
