Russians strike high-rise building in Kharkiv: over 40 wounded, including children (update)

The attack targeted civilian infrastructure in the Nemyshlyanskyy district.

On 15 September, the Russian army attacked the civilian infrastructure of Kharkiv. Nemyshlyanskyy district was hit, and a high-rise building was damaged. 

This was reported by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Synyehubov. 

"A multi-storey residential building was hit. There are fire, destruction," Terekhov said.

Synyehubov also added that there are preliminary reports of damage to civilian infrastructure in Nemyshlyanskyy district.

Update. As of now, 42 wounded residents of the apartment block are known to be injured, including four children, the youngest of whom is one year old. Russians hit the 10th floor of the building, and the fire spread to four floors - from the 9th to the 12th. 

12 people were taken to hospital, added Synyehubov. One woman and a 12-year-old boy are in serious condition. 

"Employees of the State Emergency Service rescued a man and his dog from the 12th floor. There are still people under the rubble, three apartments have been completely destroyed," the head of the region added.

The prosecutor's office reported that the aerial munition hit between the 9th and 10th floor of a twelve-storey residential building.

"Currently, there is information that an elderly woman is under the rubble. The rescue operation is ongoing. According to preliminary data, the attack on Kharkiv was carried out from an SU-34 aircraft with a FAB-250 guided aerial bomb from the Tomarivka settlement in the Belgorod Region of the Russian Federation," the prosecutor's office added.
