The Armed Forces of Ukraine have already received 18 new Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems manufactured with financial support from Denmark.

This was announced by Danish Defence Minister Trolls Lund Pulsen during his speech at the Yalta European Strategy forum, Militarnyy reports.

According to the defence minister, the Bohdana artillery systems, the purchase of which was financed by the country, are already in service.

"This was the first deal we signed. In July, we submitted an order for the production of 18 Bohdana artillery systems, and this weekend they were handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces," said Poulsen.

According to the minister, it is much easier to purchase weapons directly from Ukraine, as well as to provide technical and material support for them, as it requires much less money. Poulsen called on European countries to finance the production of weapons in Ukraine.

In turn, former Minister of Strategic Industry Oleksandr Kamyshin noted that Ukraine is capable of producing and implementing more projects that would help the country in the war, but the only pressing issue is sufficient funding.

  • On 13 June, Ukraine and Denmark signed a memorandum on the purchase of weapons and military equipment from Ukrainian manufacturers.
  • A few days later, Denmark announced its 19th military support package for Ukraine. Among other things, it allows the Danish side to invest directly in Ukrainian arms production.
