On the night of 16 September, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with 56 Shahed attack drones. 53 drones were shot down, and three more were lost in the area.
The main target of the attack was the Kyiv Region, the Air Force's Telegram reported. Russians launched the drones from Kursk and Yeysk, from 20:00 to 6:00.
"As a result of the air battle, 53 enemy strike UAVs were shot down in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Vinnytsya, Poltava, Sumy, Zaporizhzhya, Kirovohrad, Mykolayiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy Regions," the statement said.
