On the night of 17 September 2024, Russia once again attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones. Air defences shot down 34 attack UAVs.
According to the Ukrainian Air Force, radio engineering troops detected and escorted 51 attack UAVs. Russia launched drones from Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Cape Chauda in Crimea.
Air defences were operating in Mykolayiv, Kherson, Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv Regions.
