The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has recovered assets of Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov worth more than UAH 2 billion in favour of Ukraine.

This was announced by Deputy Minister of Justice Inna Bohatykh.

‘The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine has won a victory in the HACC: Usmanov's assets worth more than UAH 2 billion have been recovered in favour of the state!’ Bohatykh wrote.

She said that on 25 September, the HACC upheld the claim of the Ministry of Justice against Russian oligarch Alisher Usmanov and his business partners, the Skoch and Streshinsky families, and ordered to recover their assets in favour of the state.

Alisher Usmanov is one of the most influential businessmen in Russia and the founder of the USM Group. Together with his partners Skoch A.V., Skoch V.M., Skoch V.A. and Streshinsky V.Y., Usmanov has a decisive influence on the activities of strategic sectors of the Russian economy: metallurgy, mining, telecommunications and digital technologies.

The state revenue was collected:

  • iron ore products in excess of 165,000 tonnes (estimated value of over UAH 2 billion);
  • 100% of the authorised capital of Peter-Service Ukraine LLC, an IT company previously controlled by Usmanov.

‘The deadline for the appeal is running out. We will make every effort to keep the decision of the 1st instance in force,' Bohatykh added.
