On the night of 15 October 2024, Russians attacked the territory of Ukraine with various types of missiles and drones.
According to the Air Force, Russians struck Mykolayiv Region with seven S-300/400 missiles from the TOT of Crimea, and two X-59 guided missiles in Chernihiv and Sumy Regions from Kursk Region. Russian military also launched 17 strike UAVs. Areas of launch: Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia.
As a result of the air battle, 12 Russian UAVs were shot down in Mykolayiv, Kyiv, Odesa, Poltava, Chernihiv, Kirovohrad and Cherkasy Regions.
Four Russian drones were lost, presumably as a result of active electronic warfare countermeasures. Another UAV was still in the air as of 08:30.
The Russian shelling of Mykolayiv at night left one person dead and 23 wounded.
