The task of the renewed Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communication is to clearly communicate that Ukraine is part of European culture, and not "somewhere between the West and Russia," and to create the preconditions for this to help convince allies to continue the assistance needed to win.

This was stated by Mykola Tochytskyy, Minister of Culture and Strategic Communication, during a discussion by the New Country project of LB.ua and EFI Group entitled "Ukrainian culture as one of the main tools of our victory". He explained that, in his opinion, Ukrainians created a phenomenon of resilience and courage at the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

"Ukrainian culture and identity are a phenomenal thing. Not only the territory, but first and foremost, our identity became the object of their aggression. Putin believed that somewhere in his delusions and constructions of history that he told us that someone created Ukraine, Ukrainian identity. In fact, the Russian army has become convinced that Ukraine is a real phenomenon, a part of European culture," Tochytskyy said.

He emphasised that the Ministry of Culture's task is not about disinformation, but about strategic communications.

"We need to formulate messages, not catch up with what Putin says, breaking down our identity," the minister added.

One of the ministry's focuses will also be on rapprochement with the European Union.
