Andriy Kovalenko, head of the National Security and Defence Council's (NSDC) Centre for Countering Disinformation, has denied information about the alleged training of 100,000 DPRK troops for a war against Ukraine.
The information about the preparation of 100,000 DPRK troops and their deployment on the territory of Ukraine, which appeared in the media, is currently fiction.

He later added that less than 1% of the DPRK army's officers speak Russian. It is important to understand this in order to analyse the possibility of involving these military personnel in the actions of the Russian army in the future.
- The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Staff had discussed the "actual involvement" of North Korea in the war against Ukraine.
- A few days ago, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reported that several thousand North Korean military personnel are undergoing training in Russia and may be deployed to the front line in the future. Moreover, soldiers from the DPRK are already fighting in Ukraine.
