As a result of a drone attack by the Russian armed forces on Kyiv, debris was recorded falling in six districts of the capital: Solomianskyy, Sviatoshynskyy, Shevchenkivskyy, Holosiyivskyy, Pecherskyy and Dniprovskyy districts. There are victims, including a law enforcement officer.
This was reported by Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the KCSA and the State Emergency Service.
The Russian armed forces' UAVs entered the city in groups, split up into single targets before Kyiv and attacked at very low altitudes to complicate the work of air defences. The air alert in Kyiv lasted more than 5 hours.
All drones that threatened the city were neutralised by the forces and means of all components of the Defence Forces.
As of 09:42:
- In Solomyanskyy district, the glazing and exterior decoration of several residential buildings and 5 cars were damaged. No fire and no casualties.
- In Holosiyivskyy district, in a 22-storey residential building, the glazing of several apartments was partially damaged. There was no fire and no casualties.
- In Dniprovskyy district, local fires have preliminarily started on several balconies of apartment buildings. The information is being clarified. There were no reports of casualties.
- In the Shevchenkivskyy district, a fire broke out between the 3rd and 4th floors of an inactive multi-storey building on the area of 2 sq.m. The fire has been eliminated. No one was injured.
- In Pecherskyy district, a balcony in an 8-storey residential building was damaged. There were no injuries and no fire.
Earlier it was reported that in the Sviatoshynskyy district of Kyiv at dawn, during an air raid alarm, fragments of enemy drones damaged a high-rise building. There are two victims: a patrol policeman who was helping residents of a burning building in the Sviatoshynskyy district was hospitalised with preliminary diagnosis of combustion poisoning. Another victim, a resident of the same district, was treated by medics without hospitalisation.
The UAV attack caused a fire on an area of 50 square metres. There is partial destruction in the apartments on the 15th and 16th floors of the 16-storey residential building. Rescuers evacuated 18 residents of the building.
Debris was also reported falling in Dniprovskyy district of the city, where a balcony caught fire on one floor of a 9-storey residential building. There was no information about any injuries.
Later, at 8.59 a.m., Klitschko reported that emergency services had been called to the Shevchenkivskyy district of the capital. Preliminarily, it was a fire caused by the fall of the UAV wreckage. Later, he clarified that the drone debris had hit an office building. There is a fire on one of the floors. Emergency services are at the scene.
