DIU: Russian ships defeated in Caspian Sea for first time

The distance from the Ukrainian state border to the target is about 1,500 kilometres. 

Kamikaze drones of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) have hit Russian ships in the Caspian Sea for the first time, Ukrayinska Pravda reports, citing a source in the agency. 

According to the source, an innovative special operation by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) for the first time managed to defeat a Russian flotilla in the Caspian Sea. The distance from Ukraine's state border to the target is about 1,500 kilometres.

The kamikaze drone attack took place on the morning of 6 November. At least two facilities in the city of Kaspiysk, in the Republic of Dagestan, Russia, were damaged by the UAV strikes. In particular, these are allegedly the Tatarstan and Dagestan missile ships, and small missile ships of the 21631 project were also allegedly damaged.

According to media reports, units of the coastal forces, including marines, are based at the damaged facility. According to some reports, the attacked flotilla has been launching missile strikes against Ukraine, and the 177th Marine Regiment has been involved in battles in Kherson and Zaporizhzhya Regions.
