The Council of the European Union has decided to extend the mandate of the European Union Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine) for another two years.
This is stated on the website of the Council of the European Union.
The exercises will last until 15 November 2026 with a budget allocation of almost €409 million.
‘In accordance with today's decision, the EU Security Assistance Mission Ukraine (EUMAM Ukraine) will cooperate with NATO, in particular the NATO Security Assistance and Training Ukraine (NSATU) Programme, and exchange information with it in a transparent, reciprocal and inclusive manner,’ the EU Council said.
So far, EUMAM has trained 63,000 Ukrainian soldiers and will train another 15,000 in the coming months.
