Ukrainian defenders have cleared the outskirts of Novomlynsk in the Kharkiv Region’s Kupyansk district, driving Russian forces from a bridgehead on the right bank of the Oskil river, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
“Near the village of Novomlynsk, the enemy attempted to capture and hold a position on the right bank of the Oskil River, even managing to cross the water barrier with their superior forces,” the General Staff stated.
Despite this, Ukrainian Defence Forces, supported by artillery and UAV units, successfully repelled the attack. The 8th Separate Assault Battalion of the 10th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade Edelweiss played a key role in clearing the area of Russian forces.
The operation resulted in the destruction of the Russian troops, with the right bank of the Oskil river now firmly under Ukrainian control. “Ukrainian flags are flying over Novomlynsk,” the General Staff confirmed.
