The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine has announced the decision of the 19th session of the UNESCO Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage to include Ukrainian Easter eggs in the list of the world's heritage.

The nomination of the tradition and art of decorating eggs began in 2017 and was actively supported by Estonia.

Pysanka became the fourth item from Ukraine in the list of the world's intangible cultural heritage, which has 611 items in total. Earlier, UNESCO recognised the significance of Petrykivka decorative painting, the tradition of Kosiv painted ceramics and the Crimean Tatar ornament ornek.
