The Territorial Defence Forces are now tasked with manning their battalions and brigades to the level of nominal combat capability. It is impossible to achieve the required number in a short period of time because all the people being recruited now need to be trained.
If there are training centres for 1,000 people, it is impossible to graduate the 1,500 people. This was stated in an interview with the Adult View programme on LB live by Ihor Shvayka, Deputy Head of the Recruitment Centre of the Territorial Defence Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant.
‘You have a thousand seats. If you have training centres for 5,000 people, you can graduate 5,000 people in a month and then distribute them to battalions and brigades. The task today is to support the battalions, organise their work, and create a recruitment system that penetrates all the cracks of our society,’ he explained.
