Why are missiles our strategic advantage?
In modern warfare, missiles are vital for striking deep into Russia's rear. While drones are effective, their power has limitations.
Moreover, using foreign missiles often requires coordination with international partners.
This underscores the strategic importance of Ukraine’s own missiles. Ukrainian cruise and ballistic missiles empower our Armed Forces to act independently, delivering precision strikes on key Russian targets.
This strengthens our defence and creates an effective mechanism to deter aggression.
Achievements of Ukrainian developers
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine has already produced the first 100 missiles this year. This achievement is the result of coordinated efforts by the Ministry of Defence, which unites public and private initiatives in missile construction.
In particular, the mass production of R-360 cruise missiles of the Neptune complex has been resumed and scaled up. These modified missiles now have an extended range.
Palyanytsya missile project: A private startup supported by the Ministry of Defence has already moved into mass production.
These achievements highlight the successful collaboration between the state and the private sector to achieve a shared goal.
International cooperation - new horizons
Ukraine is not only building its own capabilities but also integrating into the European defence industry, localising the production of foreign technologies.
Notable projects include:
- Italy: Ukrainian manufacturers are participating in a programme to increase production capacity.
- Belgium: A project is localising the production of anti-aircraft systems and missiles at Ukrainian facilities.
Such initiatives provide access to cutting-edge technology and drive the modernisation of Ukraine’s defence industry.
On the road to defence independence
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine is fast-tracking structural changes to ensure better management of the missile programme. Newly established bodies, such as the Department of Missile and Missile Defence Project Support and the Main Directorate for Missile Programme Development, are coordinating efforts between the state and private sectors.
This programme will equip Ukraine with modern weapons for today’s battles while laying the foundation for future defence capabilities. Ukrainian missiles will serve as a guarantor of national security, deterring any aggression.
The future we are creating right now
The Ukrainian missile programme is about more than just war, because it represents independence, self-sufficiency, and a technological breakthrough.
Our success in missile development demonstrates that we can create game-changing weapons.
These missiles will protect our land today and ensure peace in the future. In today’s world, victory is not only about strength but also about technology.
And Ukraine is proving its technological strength today.
