Today, on 24 August, the Defence Forces conducted the first use of the Ukrainian Palyanytsya drone missile. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during the Independence Day celebrations.

"I am grateful to everyone who made this possible. Developers, manufacturers and our soldiers. We know that it will be very difficult for Russia to even say what exactly has arrived. It is difficult to counteract," the President said.
Palyanytsya was successfully used against Russian military in the occupied territory, Minister of Strategic Industry Oleksandr Kamyshin said on Telegram. This is a new class of weapon.
"This is a drone and a missile, because its tactical and technical characteristics fall under both definitions," he said.
