On 10 December, the last meeting of the second season of the New Country project (a joint project of LB.ua and EFI Group) took place, and it was dedicated to global challenges of 2025 in the context of international politics.
This time, we changed the format of the event - instead of the traditional expert panel discussion, we held a public interview. Andriy Sybiha, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, answered the questions of the moderator, LB.ua editor-in-chief Sonya Koshkina, and guests (including MPs, experts, public figures etc.).

Opening the meeting, Ihor Liski, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of EFI Group, LB.ua's partner in the project, noted the importance of such a public format for society.
"Diplomacy is one of the main fronts of our struggle for independence and the development of our country. I am grateful for the openness to this intellectual discussion, for the fact that these issues are discussed with society. I would very much like to see the mandate of our negotiators at the highest level be based on society. When the negotiations are based on the will of the brave Ukrainian nation, it will be a much stronger position," Liski said.

"It is a special mission and responsibility to be a minister of a country at war. We need unity and synergy of all the actors involved in foreign policy, because this is the only way to achieve a real strategic result," says Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.
What are Ukraine's chances of joining NATO, about the appointment of ambassadors, what is Ukraine's negotiating position, how to force Putin to negotiate - you will find answers to these and other questions in the full version of Andriy Sybiha's interview on LB.ua on 13 December. In the meantime, here is a photo report from the event.
