Another child has been brought back from the temporarily occupied territories as part of the President's Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
This was reported by Dariya Zarivna, Advisor to the Head of the Presidential Office, Chief Operating Officer of the Bring Kids Back UA initiative.
She noted that ‘at the beginning of the large-scale war, Mykhaylo, together with his mother and grandmother, found themselves under occupation. In order to avoid unnecessary attention from the occupation authorities, the boy had to go to a Russian school, which was a difficult experience for him. He felt like a stranger among his new classmates and could not find a common language with them.’
‘The family tried to leave many times, but all attempts failed. However, thanks to the coordinated work of our partners at the Ukrainian Child Rights Network, Mykhaylo is finally at home,’ the counsellor adds.
The boy's mother was unable to leave his bedridden grandmother, whose health condition had deteriorated significantly due to stress and lack of necessary medicines. Mykhaylo was met in Ukraine by his relatives. Now he is safe.
