On 20 December, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a video conversation with Czech President Petr Pavel.
This is reported on the President's website.
Zelenskyy spoke about his participation in the European Council summit and talks with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala in Brussels, and thanked the leaders and the Czech people for their unity in supporting Ukraine.
The two presidents discussed in detail the possibilities of the allies to train Ukrainian brigades following the example of France and the United States. Zelenskyy stressed that the brigades should train with the weapons and equipment they will return to Ukraine with.
They also discussed the implementation of the Czech initiative to supply artillery shells this year and agreed to work together with partners to ensure uninterrupted funding in 2025.
The leaders also discussed the possibility of opening a representative office of the newly created Ministry of National Unity in the Czech Republic.
