During the meeting of the Contact Group on Ukraine's Defence (Ramstein), which is taking place at the US air base in Germany, coalition leaders approved eight roadmaps to support Ukraine until 2027.
This is stated in a statement by the Pentagon press service.
"We, the Co-Lead Nations of the eight Capability Coalitions, have been working with Ukraine to develop respective roadmaps to streamline security assistance efforts for Ukraine within each capability area, support the development of a credible defense and deterrence capability, as well as facilitate Ukraine's interoperability with NATO," the statement said.
It is also noted that these roadmaps are a substantial step forward in the support of Ukraine by coalition countries, which plan to work closely with Ukraine until 2027, identify future needs for armed support, provide assistance packages, assist in procurement, and invest in defence expansion efforts.
It will also cooperate in developing the industrial base's capabilities, including by promoting domestic production and support opportunities for Ukraine's defence industry.
The coalitions plan to continuously refine and integrate these plans to support immediate and long-term needs "as Ukraine defends against and deters future Russian aggression".
- Prior to the Ramstein meeting, Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umerov met with Austin. This is the last meeting with US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin. After 20 January, he will be replaced by a minister to be approved by new President Donald Trump.
