Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko warned of preventive blackouts due to a massive Russian attack. He wrote about this on Facebook.
"The enemy does not stop terrorising Ukrainians. In connection with the massive attack, the transmission system operator is applying preventive restrictive measures," the statement said.
Ukrainians are urged to follow official reports and stay in shelters until the lights out.
Ukrenergo reported that due to a massive missile attack, emergency blackouts were introduced in Kharkiv, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhya, Dnipropetrovsk, and Kirovohrad Regions. They were cancelled at around 11 o'clock.
"From 08:00 to 20:00 today, there is still a need to consume electricity sparingly. If possible, do not use powerful electrical appliances during this time and do not switch on several such devices at the same time," Ukrenergo urged.
