Ukraine’s defence forces have successfully targeted key Russian facilities, according to the General Staff.
For the second time in a week, drones from the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit the Liski oil depot in Russia’s Voronezh Region during the night of 21 January. The attack, carried out in coordination with other components of Ukraine’s Defence Forces, set tanks containing fuel and lubricants ablaze. These resources were used to supply Russian troops. The depot is owned by Rosneft, one of Russia’s largest state corporations.
Additionally, Ukraine’s Defence Forces, including the Unmanned Systems Forces and the Special Operations Forces, targeted infrastructure at the Smolensk Aviation Plant in Russia’s Smolensk Region. This facility is involved in modernising and manufacturing combat aircraft. Explosions were reported at the site.
Meanwhile, the command post of the 29th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation in the temporarily occupied city of Volnovakha, Donetsk Region, was also struck. Explosions and smoke were observed in the area.
The outcomes of these strikes are currently being assessed.
