On the night of 24 January, Russia attacked Ukraine with 58 Shahed attack drones and various types of imitation drones from the following directions: Orel, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.
This was reported by the Ukrainian Air Force.
As of 09:00, 25 Shaheds and other types of drones were confirmed to have been shot down in Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyy and Lviv Regions. The air attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defence Forces.
Another 27 Russian imitator drones were lost in the area without any negative consequences.
As a result of a Russian strike in Kyiv and Chernihiv Regions, people were injured and some died. Apartment blocks, private houses and cars were damaged. Specialised services are eliminating the consequences and providing assistance to the victims.
