US resumes providing Ukraine with intelligence and satellite data, including Maxar

According to Militarnyy, Maxar has restored access to commercial satellite imagery collected for the US government.

The American company Maxar has resumed providing Ukraine with its satellite data, LB.ua sources have reported.

The company has also reinstated the transmission of other data, which had been suspended by a decision of US President Donald Trump. The resumption began immediately after an agreement between Ukraine and the United States was reached yesterday in Jeddah.

According to Militarnyy, Maxar has resumed access to commercial satellite imagery collected for the US government. This is part of the Global Enhanced GEOINT Delivery (GEGD) programme.

Ukrainian GEGD accounts had been suspended under the official justification of an “administrative request”. However, in reality, this was a consequence of US government policy, which prohibited private American companies from providing satellite data to Ukraine through the State Department.

  • Yesterday, Ukrainian and American delegations held hours of talks, resulting in the immediate resumption of intelligence and military assistance. Ukraine has agreed to a 30-day ceasefire, which will take effect if Russia agrees to it.

  • The suspension of intelligence and military assistance, according to the US administration, was intended as a demonstration of Trump’s determination to end the war. The United States had not halted all intelligence sharing, only that related to Russian territory - specifically data that could have facilitated long-range strikes. Nonetheless, during this pause, Ukraine continued to target enemy positions.
