Ukrainian cyber specialists have gained access to critical information of one of the key enterprises of the Russian defence industry, the Tupolev Design Bureau, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing sources.
According to the sources, the operation was carried out by cyber units of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
As a result of the hack, more than 4.4 GB of classified information was obtained, including official correspondence of the company's management, personal data of employees, resumes of engineers, procurement documents, minutes of closed meetings, etc.
In addition, Ukrainian specialists hacked the company's official website and posted an image of an owl holding a Russian bomber in its talons on the main page.
‘The significance of the data obtained is difficult to overestimate. Now there is virtually nothing secret about the activities of the Tupolev Design Bureau for Ukrainian intelligence, in particular, we have obtained comprehensive information about the people directly involved in servicing Russian strategic aviation. The result will obviously be noticeable both on the ground and in the sky,’ commented a source in the intelligence service.
