Based on evidence gathered by the Security Service, collaborator Valentyn Rybin, who is part of the leadership of the Russian occupation administration on the left bank of the Kherson Region, was sentenced in absentia to 10 years in prison.

This was reported by the SBU.

Rybin currently heads the so-called ‘Organisational and Legal Department of the Ministry of Information Policy of the Kherson Region of the Russian Federation,’ which coordinates the subversive activities of local Kremlin mouthpieces.

Before the start of the full-scale war, Valentyn Rybin was a lawyer for Viktor Medvedchuk and Anatoliy Shariy, who also recently received a 15-year prison sentence in absentia for treason.

Rybin then left the country, where he used his Facebook page to call on Ukrainians to lay down their arms before the Russians.

After a short stay abroad, the collaborator arrived in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson Region. There, he received an offer from the local Gauleiter Saldo to head the occupation authority for conducting information sabotage against Ukraine.

‘After his ‘appointment’, the collaborator joined Putin's United Russia party, on behalf of which he repeatedly called on local residents to support the occupiers,’ the agency said.

Based on evidence gathered by Security Service investigators, Rybin was found guilty under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration).

In addition to imprisonment in absentia, the court ordered the confiscation of the convicted person's property.

Since the perpetrator is hiding from justice in the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine, comprehensive measures are being taken to bring him to justice.
