Maryana Mazur, a soloist at the Lviv National Opera, won the Riccardo Zandonai International Competition for Young Opera Singers in Italy. This was announced on the Lviv National Opera's Facebook page.

The artist received two awards: Riccardo Zandonai and MusicaRiva.

On stage, Maryana Mazur performs the leading roles of Mimi (Puccini's La Bohème), Natalka Poltavka (M. Lysenko's Natalka Poltavka), Anna (Y. Meitus's The Stolen Happiness), Oksana (Zaporozhets za Dunayem), Liu (Turandot by G. Puccini) and many others.

The Riccardo Zandonai International Opera Competition for Young Singers (Italian: Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Cantanti Lirici "Riccardo Zandonai") is a prestigious annual competition held in Riva del Garda, Italy. It is named after the early 20th-century Italian composer Riccardo Zandonai, known in particular for his opera Francesca da Rimini. An important part of the competition is supporting young talent in opera, providing opportunities to meet agents and directors, and promoting careers. It is one of Italy's most famous and influential competitions for young opera singers, especially those who aspire to perform in European theatres. It has a professional jury, which also influences the subsequent invitation of winners to participate in international productions and theatre and opera projects.
