The Mystetskyy Arsenal will participate in the world’s largest book fair, the Frankfurter Buchmesse, which will take place from 15 to 19 October 2025. The institution will present its own stand, J83, in Hall 3.1, “Art. ArtBook. Design”, with the concept Everything Is Translation which was the focus of this year’s Book Arsenal in Kyiv.
“Every year, this is an invaluable opportunity for us to talk about the Arsenal, our work, and most importantly, Ukrainian culture. Catalogues on Boychukism, Ukrainian Futurism, Les Kurbas, and publications about artists of the 1990s and 2000s always attract interest from both the professional community and the general public,” said Olesya Ostrovska-Lyuta, Director General of the Art Arsenal.
The stand will present catalogues of the Mystetskyy Arsenal, promotional materials for the Book Arsenal festival, and souvenir products. The theme Everything Is Translation will be reflected in the stand’s identity and in the Ukrainian programme of the national stand, which will address the translation of experiences and the search for a language of understanding in an ever-changing world.
This year, for the first time, there will also be a special educational programme for publishers from Ukraine and neighbouring countries. Fifteen participants will take part, including five from Ukraine. The programme is being implemented with the support of the German Federal Foreign Office in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Ukraine and the Book Arsenal.
The focus theme of Ukraine’s national stand in Frankfurt is Filling in. Ukraine seeks to fill the gaps in the European cultural map by presenting classic publications in foreign languages, reviving forgotten names, and opening up new horizons for its literature and cultural heritage.
Along with the Mystetskyy Arsenal, Ukraine will be represented by the Ukrainian Book Institute, a collective stand of publishers, the Goethe-Institut Ukraine, the Ukrainian Institute, and Creative Women Publishing, winner of the Chytomo Award.
The Mystetskyy Arsenal’s participation in the Frankfurter Buchmesse was made possible thanks to the support of the International Renaissance Foundation and partners in Germany.
