Ukraine has received a tranche of €4 billion in macro-financial assistance from the EU under the ERA Loans mechanism, Prime Minister Yuliya Svyrydenko announced.

‘The tranche is secured by proceeds from frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia in the European Union and is an important signal for us about Europe's determination to strengthen Ukraine's defence capabilities and provide long-term support,’ Svyrydenko wrote.

She noted that these funds represent thousands of lives saved, cities restored, and Ukraine's irreversible path towards Europe.
