The premiere of the documentary Kuba and Alaska, directed by Yegor Troyanovskyy, will take place in Copenhagen as part of the Global Health Film Days international festival. The event will be held on 18 April.

The film recounts the experience of the Russian-Ukrainian war through the stories of two combat medics with the call signs Kuba and Alaska. The protagonists — complete opposites yet close friends — carry out dangerous missions on the front line, saving lives. Despite the constant risk and destruction around them, they retain the ability to dream, create and joke.

The film is based on footage shot by the protagonists themselves using POV cameras, allowing viewers to come as close as possible to their experience and to feel the inner strength and resilience required to live through war.

The film will be presented by Nataliya Popovych, Head of the Ukrainian House. Following the screening, there will be an informal gathering with Ukrainian snacks and music at Asta Bar.

The event will be held in English.
