Deputy Commander of the 8th Air Assault Corps, Colonel Pavlo Rozlach, explained in an interview with LB.ua where Russia draws the resources to sustain its offensive.
He stressed that Russia’s system is structured in a way that encourages people to go to war.
“As of now, they still have sufficient resources. Their totalitarian system is built so that the population wants to fight. I recently read a study showing that 60% of Russian children go to vocational colleges. From there, it’s either a defence industry plant or the army. The need for upper secondary education disappears. Add to that debtors and criminals. Everything is structured to push them into war, so they still have manpower,” the colonel said.
According to him, there is a deeply rooted propensity for violence.
“They have always been brutal. There is a drive for violence in them. That’s how it developed historically, and it won’t change. Their state strategy is aimed at creating a maniac driven into a corner. Then there are no ways left to earn except through violence. And the most striking thing is that when a person becomes a maniac, they are one towards everyone without exception. There is no distinction between their own and others,” Rozlach stressed.
According to Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyy, Russia plans to form at least 11 new divisions in 2026 and conscript 409,000 people.
