On 30 April 2026, the closing event of an exhibition dedicated to the Ukrainian poet and dissident Vasyl Stus will take place in Düsseldorf. The event is scheduled to be held at the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Haus. The Pilecki Institute announced this on its Facebook page.
The programme includes a keynote lecture, The Time After Stus, which reflects on the influence of the poet’s life and work on the present day and explores the impact his artistic and political legacy continues to have. The highlight of the evening will be a performative reading of Stus’s poetry. His texts will be performed by well-known activists and representatives of Düsseldorf’s cultural and social circles, lending the poems contemporary resonance and building a bridge between past and present.
The closing event will mark the conclusion of the exhibition and serve as an invitation to reflect collectively on Vasyl Stus’s legacy.
