On the night of 17 July, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with missiles of various types and 130 drones. Ukrainian air defences neutralised 120 aerial targets. Two missiles and eight drones struck seven locations, while debris fell in five other areas. In addition, a Kh-31P anti-radiation missile failed to reach its target.

This was reported by the Air Force.

According to the Air Force, during the night of 17 July (from 18:00 on 16 July), Russian forces launched one Kh-31P anti-radiation missile from the temporarily occupied territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, seven Kh-59/69 air-launched guided missiles from the same territory, and 130 Shahed-type attack UAVs, including jet-powered variants, as well as Gerbera, Italmas and Parodiya decoy drones. The aerial weapons were launched from Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Millerovo and Oryol in Russia, Donetsk (temporarily occupied territory), and Hvardiyske in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

The air attack was repelled by aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.

“According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defences had shot down or suppressed five Kh-59/69 air-launched guided missiles and 115 enemy UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera and Italmas drones, as well as UAVs of other types, in the north, south and east of the country,” the Air Force said.
