Luxembourg has transferred an additional €8 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy.
As a result, Luxembourg’s total contribution has reached €30 million.
First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal noted that these funds will make it possible to purchase the necessary equipment for energy companies.
- The Ukraine Energy Support Fund was established in spring 2022 together with the European Commission and the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine to address the consequences of Russian attacks on critical infrastructure.
- The initiative enables governments, international institutions, and private donors to provide financial assistance to Ukraine’s energy sector.
- According to the Ministry of Energy, over the entire period of its operation the fund has attracted more than €2 billion in grant funding from 39 sponsors from 26 countries and three international organizations.
