In the town of Slavyansk-on-Kuban in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, a fire broke out at an oil refinery after a night-time drone attack. This was reported by ASTRA.
Videos are circulating online showing a glow over the refinery site. At the same time, the Russian authorities have not officially reported any strike on the facility.
It is noted that the oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban had already come under attack in June. A fire also broke out at the plant then.
That same night, drones reached Nizhnekamsk in the Republic of Tatarstan.
Local residents reported the sounds of explosions, drones flying overhead and Russian air defence in operation.
Nizhnekamsk Mayor Radmir Belyayev said there was a fire at “one of the city’s enterprises”. According to ASTRA, it is likely a facility linked to the oil refining industry.
Nizhnekamsk is home to several major companies in the fuel and energy and petrochemical sectors, including JSC “TANECO” (“Tatneft”), the JSC “TAIF-NK” refinery and PJSC “Nizhnekamskneftekhim”.
Russia’s Defence Ministry claimed that 389 UAVs were supposedly shot down by Russian air defence.
