Today, 15 September, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhaylo Drapatyy briefed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on the successful testing of another drone interceptor.
“Today, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mykhaylo Drapatyy, briefed me on another step forward by our manufacturers: another interceptor designed to counter Russian jet-powered drones has been successfully tested. A Shahed was successfully hit, but some aspects of the interceptor’s control still need to be refined. We are continuing the work – more time is needed. I thank the developers for their efforts,” the president said.
The briefing also covered further military operations and long-range strikes. Together with Defence Minister Yevheniy Khmara and the Commander-in-Chief, they identified the next priority targets, the capabilities needed to strike them and the preparations required.
“The results of our long-range strikes against the Russian oil sector that fuels the war are significant, and this is precisely what is giving diplomacy the necessary leverage,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote, adding that Ukraine is ready to take de-escalatory steps of its own, but its partners must ensure that Russia acts in good faith in implementing reciprocal measures concerning critical infrastructure.
