In recent weeks, Russia has twice attempted to attack the plane of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He said this in an interview with CBS News

Both incidents took place in Moldova, which the president used as a transit point during his trips. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the attempted attacks occurred while he was travelling in both directions.

“In Moldova, my presidential plane was there, and that is why they attacked Moldova. When we returned home, again via Chisinau, they did the same,” he said.

Earlier, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre said that Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s plane was almost hit by a drone in Moldovan airspace as he flew to Oslo on 9 September. Zelenskyy said that another one or two drones entered Moldova’s airspace when he returned a few days later.

He believes Russia is seeking to intimidate him and other leaders in this way. Commenting on a drone strike on the railway near the Polish border, where the former CIA director and foreign diplomats were at the time, the president said he believes it was deliberate.

“Perhaps they did not know Americans were there, or perhaps the opposite — they did know, because I do not trust them. I think they knew. That is why Europeans, Americans, and large delegations on that train were attacked,” the head of state said.
