Today, 18 September, the Russian army struck a suburban train in the Kharkiv Region. Two passengers were seriously injured.
“The enemy struck a suburban train in the Kharkiv Region. The threat was detected by Ukrzaliznytsya’s monitoring group, after which passenger evacuation was announced. Preliminary reports indicate that two passengers sustained serious injuries — during the evacuation, they did not move to a safe distance from the train,” the carrier said.
Rescue workers and medics are heading to the scene.
Ukrzaliznytsia reminded passengers that during an evacuation it is necessary to follow the train crew’s instructions precisely. If there is no shelter nearby, people should move at least 200 metres away from rolling stock and railway infrastructure facilities.
- The government approved new rules for the operation of the railway and stations depending on the level of air-raid threat. Under the yellow threat level, trains run to schedule and passengers can board and alight. Under the red level, passenger boarding and train departures are suspended, and people must move to shelter.
