Ukraine has received another tranche worth €3.3bn from the European Union under the Ukraine Support Loan programme.
Ukraine’s Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyy announced this on Telegram.
He said the funds would be directed towards urgent defence needs. In particular, this includes the purchase of missiles and drones.
Koretskyi thanked European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, the European Commission and EU member states for supporting Ukraine and helping to strengthen Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
- On the eve of this, following a phone call with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, von der Leyen announced that the bloc would allocate funds for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine.
- Von der Leyen also expressed readiness to consider launching a new programme between Ukraine and the EU that would finance defence projects using remaining funds not used for the bloc’s internal programme known as SAFE.
