President Volodymyr Zelenskyy heard reports from Defence Minister Yevhen Khmara and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapatyi.
He said so on Telegram.
“Decisions are being prepared to update management approaches and the system for responding to challenges within the command of the Armed Forces’ Medical Forces following the change in leadership. The main thing is to scale up as much as possible the successful practices used in combat brigades and across all effective brigade welfare and support services. Scaling up the successful experience of the Defence Forces is a priority for commanders at all levels,” Zelenskyy wrote.
The meeting also discussed updating the regulatory framework and approaches to recruiting foreign volunteers to serve in Ukraine’s Defence Forces.
“Everyone who feels that our defence of Ukraine’s independence is of global importance should be given a proper opportunity to prove themselves and the respect they deserve. I am grateful to all foreign volunteers who have already made a significant contribution to defending Ukraine, our independence, and our people’s right to live as they should in a sovereign state,” Zelenskyy stressed.
He also noted that he had approved new long-range operations in response to Russian strikes.
“We are preparing to expand our long-range capabilities,” the President emphasised.
Separately, he thanked weapons developers and manufacturers, engineers and the experts involved who are working to create countermeasures against jet-powered Shahed drones.
“There are already several developments that have proven their effectiveness through real-world use and the downing of jet-powered Shahed drones. We are working to ensure systematic deployment, consistent effectiveness in shoot-downs, and the necessary mass production. Together with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, we have also identified further priorities for active operations at the front,” Zelenskyy added.
