Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi said that during the Carpathian Economic Forum it was possible to reach agreements on new projects with international partners.

"At the Carpathian Economic Forum, we have more than 50 investment and trade projects from all C8 countries — in the oil and gas sector and energy, infrastructure and the cultural sphere — with a total value of more than €1bn. The next step is to move to their implementation. We are talking about the Carpathians as an integrated economic space — together with representatives of the governments, regions and communities of the C8 countries, business and international financial institutions," Koretskyi said.
He said that Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, the Czech Republic, Austria and Serbia together form an economy linked by shared production chains, energy, transport routes and connections between regions and communities.
"Our task is to scale up this cooperation," Koretskyi stressed.
He added that it is necessary to focus on three areas: developing trade and mutual investment; attracting major international capital through joint regional investment platforms; and the participation of C8 countries in Ukraine’s reconstruction as a shared economic project for the entire region.
"For this, the Carpathians need their own strategic framework, following the example of other EU macro-regions. That is why the goal of the Carpathian Integration Initiative is to launch an EU Macro-Regional Strategy for the Carpathians, and today, together with our partners, we will work on filling it with substance," the Prime Minister said.
